As part of the Panama Aeronautical Consortium, SOFRATESA will implement state-of-the-art technological solutions that will help to strengthen operational safety and modernise the country’s air navigation infrastructure.

Following the signing of the contract that launched the project to modernise the Air Traffic Control System of Panama’s Civil Aviation Authority (AAC), SOFRATESA continues to make progress in implementing this strategic initiative, which will strengthen the management of Panamanian airspace through state-of-the-art technological solutions.

The project is being carried out by the Panama Aeronautical Consortium, comprising SOFRATESA and its strategic partner THALES, and represents a significant step forward in the modernisation of the country’s aeronautical infrastructure, incorporating solutions aligned with the highest international standards of safety, efficiency and innovation.

As part of this initiative, a comprehensive suite of technological solutions for air traffic management will be implemented, including TopSky-ATC, AMHS, AIS, eAIP/AIXM, a modern Voice Communications System (VCS), an aeronautical billing system and Voice Recording Systems (VRS). Within the framework of the Panama Aviation Consortium, SOFRATESA plays a key role in the implementation of these solutions, contributing its expertise in the execution of highly complex technological projects for the transport sector.

Furthermore, the project includes specialised technical support, staff training and guidance during the commissioning process, thereby strengthening the capabilities of the Civil Aviation Authority of Panama and contributing to an efficient transition towards a more modern, safe and reliable air navigation system.

Through this initiative, SOFRATESA reaffirms its commitment to the technological transformation of the aviation sector and continues to contribute its expertise to strategic projects that drive the modernisation of transport infrastructure in Latin America.
